Equipped with the 5.9L Cummins, the 48RE transmission in the Dodge RAM 2500 & 3500 pickup can be removed quite easily. The exhaust is out of the way, the rear cross member drops simply, and the torque converter bolts have ample access. The transfer case can be dropped with the transmission, or easily removed to save weight.
