When unloaded, pickups sit higher in the rear. To get a more "level" look for everyday driving, leveling kits can be installed to raise the front end 1 - 3 inches.
A leveling kit can help achieve the desired stance as well as accommodate larger tires without rubbing
Unlike a complete lift kit, a leveling kit simply adds a spacer to the upper or lower strut mount. Keep in mind, the larger the spacer, the more steering and suspension geometry changes. When combined with a larger tire, this can negatively affect loads on joints, axles, bearings, and springs.
Commonly, leveling kits are limited to 3 inches, while lift kits start at 3.5 inches and replace various components affected by the change in geometry.
When changes are made to the steering or suspension, an alignment should be done to restore normal angles.
